Any lock with a touchscreen keypad (YRD256 / YRD652) needs to be "woken up" in order to respond.  This can be done by pressing the Yale button on the top–center of the keypad.

After pressing the keypad, LED lights will illuminate allowing you to enter a code.

Locks with physical buttons will wake up as you enter a lock code. The Yale button on these Locks will not do anything.

For all lock types, the keypad may not respond due to Low Batteries in the lock itself.

Every Smart Lock require four (4) AA batteries to operate.

When the batteries reach 0% battery level, the keypad will stop responding.

IMPORTANT: If you are locked outside of the home, the lock can still be charged with a 9-volt battery by touching and holding the 9-volt battery to the charging prongs on the bottom of the keypad.

It may take between 5-10 minutes for the 9-volt to charge the lock to an appropriate level of use.

The keypad is ready to be used when it begins to flash a white color after a button is pressed.

Enter your code to gain entry to the home and immediately change the lock's batteries.
