In some circumstances, the Smart Lock on the front door may jam or make an error noise when attempting to lock or unlock the door.

This might indicate that the deadbolt is continuously attempting to engage.

The lock may also make a clicking sound, followed by 7 rapid beeping sounds to indicate there is an error.

If the lock is jamming, open the door and attempt to lock and unlock the door using your code.  This determines if the issue is being caused by the lock or the door frame.

If the lock is operating correctly when the door is opened, this can be a result of a door frame or striker plate issue.

The most common issue would be the striker plate.

  • The lock and striker plate may not be lined up correctly, which causes the deadbolt to feel friction with the plate itself.
  • The lock will sense this friction and report a jamming issue.
  • The striker plate may also not be deep enough.
  • If the deadbolt is unable to fully engage, it will make an error noise as well.

If the lock is making a clicking noise when the door is opened, this is a result of the lock being handed incorrectly.  This can be easily fixed by contacting the Propify Smart Home Team.

  •  The Smart Home Team will provide a master code for that lock.  Enter the six (6) digit code on the keypad, followed by the Gear Symbol on the bottom-right.
  • You will then press the Number 3, followed by the Gear Symbol.
  • Now, turn the lock with your hand so the deadbolt is fully engaged.
  • Return to the keypad and press the Number 5, followed by the Gear Symbol twice.  The lock will chime three (3) times, indicating that the lock is now handed in the correct direction.

Test the code again, the door should act appropriately.
